ITINERARY
Day 01
Day 1: Early in the morning, your kayak guide will pick you up from your hotel and arrange transportation to Torres del Paine National Park.
Upon arrival at the Grey Lake area, your personal gear and kayaks will be assigned, and you will receive an instructional talk on safety and kayaking.
We will first enter Grey Lake to visit the iceberg area and then begin the descent of the Grey River. Throughout the trip, we will be able to see the Paine Massif and will stop for lunch by the river.
In the afternoon, we will arrive at the Serrano River area and navigate a short section of the river to reach the vehicle that will be waiting to transport us 400 meters to the Vista al Paine Refuge, where we will spend the first night, with panoramic views of the Paine Massif from our room.
Dinner.
Day 02
Day 2:
Breakfast.
We begin paddling the first stretch of the Serrano River, after approximately 45 minutes. We reach Salto Serrano (a geological depression that produces strong rapids), requiring us to carry the kayaks for approximately 100 meters. Depending on the weather conditions and the group's physical condition, we continue downriver for approximately 4 hours. During the journey, we will appreciate the Southern Ice Field, Tyndall Glacier, Paine Massif, and Mount Balmaceda, as well as the local birdlife and the typical Magellanic Andean forest.
We arrive at Monte Balmaceda Lodge, where a warm room with an incredible view of the Serrano Glacier will be waiting for us.
Dinner.
Day 03
Day 3: After a hearty breakfast, we prepare to enter the open waters of the Ultima Esperanza Fjord, where we sail for approximately 30 minutes to Puerto Toro, considered the entrance to Bernardo O'Higgins National Park and home to the Serrano Glacier.
We are now close to experiencing the thrill of paddling among icebergs and getting as close to the vertical wall of the Serrano Glacier as safety permits. We then navigate the waters of the Ultima Esperanza Fjord to visit the front of the Balmaceda Glacier. During this voyage, it is possible to spot the area's marine fauna, such as sea lions, elephant seals, dolphins, and even condors.
After the voyage, we transport the kayaks and equipment to the "21 de Mayo" boat to navigate the Ultima Esperanza Fjord toward Puerto Natales.
During this cruise, we can observe the Balmaceda Glacier, which plunges from the summit of Mount Balmaceda into the sea. Halfway through the fjord, we stop for lunch at Estancia Perales, a Patagonian lamb barbecue. We then continue sailing through the Ultima Esperanza Fjord, arriving in Puerto Natales at approximately 5:00 PM.

Note
Please keep in mind that sea kayaking is entirely weather-dependent. The guide will assess the conditions before each leg of the trip and may shorten, suspend, or cancel the trip altogether. In the event of cancellation, the guide will evaluate alternative activities such as trekking, horseback riding, or sport fishing, depending on the group's geographic location.
In cases of program modifications, such as shortening, suspension, or cancellation, there will be no refunds or reimbursements.
Accommodation at Monte Balmaceda Lodge
Each group member will receive a dry bag for their belongings. You will also receive a dry bag for cameras or similar.
The water supply comes from the rivers and lakes in the areas visited. In this area of Patagonia, the water is completely pure and safe to drink. For those who wish, the guide provides a filter and chlorine tablets to purify the water.
Climate and Temperature
Patagonia is famous for its unstable weather and strong winds. Even in summer, it can be very cool and rainy, so we must have the necessary clothing and equipment.
