Here, we'll have the opportunity to paddle past two glaciers descending from the peaks of Mount Balmaceda: the Balmaceda Glacier and the Serrano Glacier.

ITINERARY

Day 01

Day 1: Early in the morning, your kayak guide will pick you up from your hotel and arrange transportation to Torres del Paine National Park. Upon arrival at the Serrano River sector, your personal gear and kayaks will be assigned. An instructive talk will be given on safety and how to paddle a sea kayak. We begin paddling the first stretch of the Serrano River, which is ideal for familiarizing yourself with the designated equipment and techniques. After approximately 45 minutes, we arrive at Salto Serrano (a geological depression that produces strong rapids), requiring us to carry our kayaks for approximately 100 meters. Depending on weather conditions and the physical condition of the group, we continue downriver until we reach the mouth of the Tyndall River. Here, we will sail upriver for approximately 2 hours until entering Lake Tyndall, which we will navigate for approximately 1 hour until we reach the first camp. During the cruise, we admire the Southern Ice Field and Mount Balmaceda, as well as the local birdlife and the typical Magellanic Andean forest.
We set up camp and have dinner.

Day 03

Day 2: Early in the morning, after a hearty breakfast, we broke camp and prepared our gear to cross the lake westward to reach the bed of the Tyndall Glacier. Here, we hike for approximately 1 hour to get a panoramic view of the southern ice field. A unique spot in Torres del Paine National Park, where there are no other tourists.
After this expedition to the Tyndall Glacier, we begin the return to the Serrano River to set up our second camp overlooking the southern ice field.

Day 03

Day 3: After breakfast and dismantling camp, we begin the final stretch of the Serrano River, approximately 3 hours long, and prepare to enter the open waters of the Ultima Esperanza Fjord. We will sail for approximately 20 minutes to Puerto Toro, considered the entrance to Bernardo O'Higgins National Park and home to the Serrano Glacier.
We are now close to experiencing the thrill of paddling among icebergs and getting close to the Serrano Glacier's frontal wall. We will go as far as safety permits to enjoy this incredible view.
We will then return to the fjord to cross to Monte Balmaceda Lodge, where a heated room with a direct view of the Serrano Glacier will be waiting for us, along with a delicious dinner in front of the Serrano Glacier.

Day 04

Day 4:
After breakfast in this incredible place, we sail through the waters of the Ultima Esperanza Fjord to visit the front of the Balmaceda Glacier. During this cruise, you may spot marine wildlife such as sea lions, elephant seals, dolphins, and even condors.
We return to Puerto Toro and transfer the kayaks and equipment to the "21 de Mayo" boat to sail through the Ultima Esperanza Fjord toward Puerto Natales.
During this cruise, we can observe the Balmaceda Glacier, which drops from the summit of Mount Balmaceda into the sea. Halfway through the fjord, we stop for lunch at "Estancia Perales," a Patagonian lamb barbecue. We then continue sailing through the fjord, arriving in Puerto Natales at approximately 5:00 PM. Transfer to the hotel.

One-Day Extension - Kayaking and Sport Fishing Serrano River.

Requirements
No paddling experience is required. Your guide will take the time to ensure you learn the most important technical aspects of paddling and safety.

Note
Please keep in mind that sea kayaking is entirely weather-dependent. The guide will assess the current conditions before each leg of the trip and may shorten, suspend, or cancel the trip altogether. In the event of a cancellation, the guide will evaluate alternative activities such as trekking, horseback riding, or sport fishing, depending on the group's geographic location.
In cases of program modifications, such as shortening, suspending, or canceling, there will be no refunds or reimbursements.

The group will use double tents; if you request a single tent, it will have an additional cost.

Each group member will receive a dry bag for their belongings. You will also receive a dry bag for cameras or other similar items.

The water supply comes from the rivers and lakes in the areas visited. In this area of Patagonia, the water is completely pure and safe to drink. For those who wish, the guide will provide a filter and chlorine tablets to purify the water.

Climate and Temperature
Patagonia is famous for its unstable climate and strong winds. Even in summer, it can be very cool and rainy, so we must have the necessary clothing and equipment.
